ControlPro v3.4
In ControlPro version 3.2, we introduced a new feature called the scale system. Now in v3.3, it is NTEP certified (Certificate #: 23—53A1). Instead of using automation to dispense material, you can manually load the truck and weigh it to determine the delivered amount. You can also use it in conjunction with automation, with the scale being the determining factor for the final delivery weight.
The tare weight and the gross weight of the truck are used to calculate how much product was delivered. This system needs to be used with a scale rated for custody transfer. Below is a screenshot of what the scale screen looks like.
Below I added a ticket along with driver, equipment, and consignee point. At the bottom left, you’ll see the boxes for requested and simulation. These fields are editable while in simulation mode. When simulation mode is turned off, the simulation field disappears, and the requested field is locked and can’t be edited. Towards the top left, you’ll see a section for motion. While the scale is in motion, you cannot capture the weight.
Once the motion is steady, the capture tare and create load button activates. If motion is detected the button will deactivate itself.
We’re simulating a tare weight of 9,520 lbs. with a requested amount of 30,000 lbs. When the scale motion is steady, click the capture tare and create load button.
If we open the ticket, and go to the loads tab, we see that the load is marked as “InProgress”. We need to capture the gross weight to complete the load and close the ticket.
I loaded the ticket back into the scale system. Once the motion is steady, the capture gross and complete load button activates itself. I typed in the weight of 39460 simulated gross weight. When the scale motion is steady, click the capture gross and complete load button.
After that the ticket is completed. I intentionally typed in a weight that was 60 lbs. short as an example. Keep in mind that the scale is treated as a totalizer. Whatever weight the scale captures is what’s used to calculate the delivered amount. This is why the scale needs to be rated for custody transfer.
We also developed an unattended screen to go with the manual scale system. That screen is available in the Companion App. Please refer to our training articles about the companion app to learn more.
