ControlPro v3.4
Aggregate materials are a way to combine multiple materials into one new material. The source materials that create the aggregate are called ingredients. Unlike formulas, aggregate materials can be assigned to systems and variables. This is useful if you’re always going to combine the ingredients and rarely dispense them separately. This article involves creating tickets and materials. If you need assistance with those check out our other articles available in the Knowledgebase.
To create a new aggregate material, click on the create new material button.
In this example, we’re blending 32% Urea Ammonium Nitrate (UAN) with water to create a 28% nitrogen liquid fertilizer. Fill in the description, type, default units, density, and dispensed as fields. After that, click on the ingredients tab.
The ingredients tab is where you add your ingredients to the aggregate material. Click on the green plus sign to open the material search window.
In the material search window, you can select multiple materials by using the CTRL key on your keyboard to highlight them. When finished, click accept.
Now that your individual ingredients are setup, we need to assign percentages. We’re diluting 32% with water to make 28%. When you do the math, that comes out to 87.5% (UAN) and 12.5% (water).
All percentages must add up to 100 exactly, or ControlPro will display an error and won’t let you save. This could be an issue if you have 3 blended ingredients of equal amounts. One third is 33.3333% repeating. All three parts add up to 99.9999%. You’ll receive an error that they don’t equal 100%. To get around this rounding issue, simply make one of the ingredients 33.3334%, and leave the other two at 33.3333%. Then all three will add up to 100%. One material being off by one ten thousandth of a percent is too small to be noticeable and won’t affect the blend ratios. When finished, click save.
Next step is to create a ticket with that new aggregate material. In this example, I created a ticket with 5,000 gallons of 28%. Then I added the ticket to the system for processing.
After the ticket is added to the system, go to the batch details tab. You will see all ingredients broken down in their proper ratios. Notice that 28% is not assigned to the system. ControlPro knows to accept the ticket if the ingredients are assigned even though the aggregate material is not assigned. Process the ticket like you would any other. We have documentation to assist you with assigning and processing tickets in our Knowledgebase.
